If you want to get the best results at your next hair color appointment use the following tips!
Shampoo your hair the night before - You may want to skip the shampoo and just let your stylist deal with it on the day of your appointment but product buildup could impede the color process.
Also good to note, it is not recommended to shampoo the day of since scrubbing your scalp could lead to irritation when the color is applied.
2. Bring pictures of what you like - Contrary to popular belief, stylists actually do tend to appreciate when you bring pictures of what you like. Looking at the pictures together will ensure that you are both on the same page as far as how color is interpreted for your desired end result. For instance, buttery blonde or caramel may look completely different in your eyes vs. your stylist's.
3. Be honest about your hair history - This is a no brainer.... not telling the stylist everything that has been done to your hair within the past year, or two depending on how long your hair is, can result in preventable damage and more predictable results.
4. Have realistic expectations - Realize that a lot of pictures you see online may be filtered and/or wigs and not every look is achievable by every head of hair.
